Mark Borowsky

Mark Borowsky

Mark Borowsky is a research scientist at the Broad Institute. As a member of the microbial genome analysis group, Mark's work focuses on infectious disease, researching mechanisms of pathogenesis, host-pathogen interactions and the basis of drug resistance in microbial pathogens.

Prior to joining the Broad in 2003, he was a senior scientist in the biological database division at Incyte Corporation.

Kerstin Lindblad-Toh

Kerstin Lindblad-Toh

Kerstin Lindblad-Toh is co-director of the Genome Sequencing and Analysis program at the Broad Institute. She is primarily responsible for leading Broad's Mammalian Genome Initiative and the sequencing and analysis of various mammals, including mouse, dog, chimp, horse and opossum.

Carsten Russ

Carsten Russ is a Research Scientist in Genome Sequencing and Analysis Program at the Broad Institute. In this capacity, he is responsible for the management and development of scientific projects that utilize new sequencing technologies. Further, Carsten also co-ordinates several Sanger based medical sequencing projects at the Broad.

Daniel Neafsey

Daniel Neafsey

Daniel Neafsey is a research scientist working with the Microbial Sequencing Center (MSC) at the Broad Institute. His work focuses on the comparative analysis of numerous microbial genomes, including pathogenic fungi and Plasmodium spp.

Dan joined the MSC after completing postdoctoral work on comparative malaria genomics in the laboratory of Dan Hartl at Harvard University.

Chinnappa Kodira

Chinnappa Dilip Kodira is director of genome annotation at the Broad Institute. He is responsible for managing the scientific aspects of multiple annotation projects.

Rays Jiang

Rays Jiang

Rays Jiang is a research scientist working at the genome biology platform at the Broad Institute. Her work focuses on genetics and evolution of pathogenic microbes, in particular the destructive Phytophthora species.

Rays joined the Broad Institute after her postdoctoral work at the Virginia Bioinformatics institute and at Wageningen University, the Netherlands.

Chad Nusbaum

Chad Nusbaum is co-director of the Genome Sequencing and Analysis program at the Broad Institute. He is responsible for development, implementation and application of new sequencing technologies. He also leads several microbial and fungal genome projects including the potato blight Phytophthora infestans.
