Kristin Ardlie

Kristin Ardlie is the director of the Biological Samples Platform at the Broad Institute. Kristin and her team oversee every biological sample brought in to the Broad, with the goal of ensuring its scientific integrity, quality, and accuracy for research studies. The platform’s tasks include receipt, tracking, processing, and storage of samples, obtaining appropriate approval for human studies, and annotation of clinical and sample phenotype data.

The Broad’s Biological Samples Platform is an academic leader in biological sample management. The platform combines expertise in advanced technologies for sample storage and processing, the appropriate procedures for collection and use of human samples in biomedical research, the histological analysis of normal and abnormal human tissues, and the development of laboratory information management systems for detailed sample tracking.
