Proteomics Platform

Scientists in the Proteomics platform seek to provide comprehensive tools for understanding the expression, activation, interaction and signaling of proteins and metabolites. The Proteomics platform has a wealth of expertise in protein chemistry, separations science, mass spectrometry and next-generation approaches for data analysis. These capabilities, together with the use of state-of-the-art instrumentation (such as a new hybrid linear ion trap-Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometer), provide the essential ingredients for rapid and successful proteomic discovery.

Platform scientists collaborate with other Broad scientists and the biomedical research community to design and execute large-scale protein profiling projects. Scientists in the platform also develop new methods to improve detection and quantitation of proteins and their modifications. The platform is directed by Steve Carr, an expert in proteomics and mass spectrometry. Other platform leaders include Terri Addona, Karl Clauser and Michael Gillette.
