Parameter estimates are based on a 10-plate (950 sample) study, and on current platform capacity, and assume immediate availability and usability of a customer’s DNA samples. These parameters are for comparison and planning purposes, and are not necessarily reflective of actual results. Time measures reflect laboratory time, and not post-lab data analysis.

Platform Description

Illumina's BeadArray Technology is based on 3-micron silica beads that self assemble in microwells on planar silica slides. When randomly assembled on this substrate, the beads have a uniform spacing of ~5.7 microns. Each bead is covered with hundreds of thousands of copies of a specific oligonucleotide that act as the capture sequences in one of Illumina's assays.

Illumina Whole Genome Arrays are designed using tag SNP content which allows for great statistical power and genomic coverage. The same Beadchips can also be used in LOH/copy number analyses.

CGA offers off-the-shelf fixed content Illumina SNP genotyping assays of various scales, all of which are processed in an automated, LIMS-based production environment with customized software for accurate and automated allele calling.

Services Offered

We provide genotyping using the HumanHap370cnv quad, HumanHap610 quad, and HumanHap 1M duo Infinium products. The HumanHap550 HumanHap650Y arrays are no longer offered.

Details


The CGA has specific requirements for small Infinium projects, that is, those having fewer than 384 samples total.

Specifically, we can only accept small projects that have sample numbers that will fill a production plate while allowing one well for a positive control DNA sample added by the CGA.

For Duo arrays: 47, 95, 142, 190, 237, 285, 342 or 380 investigator-supplied samples.

For Quad arrays:  95, 142, 190, 237, 285, 342 or 380 investigator-supplied samples.
