Kristin Ardlie

Kristin Ardlie is the director of the Biological Samples Platform at the Broad Institute. Kristin and her team oversee every biological sample brought in to the Broad, with the goal of ensuring its scientific integrity, quality, and accuracy for research studies. The platform’s tasks include receipt, tracking, processing, and storage of samples, obtaining appropriate approval for human studies, and annotation of clinical and sample phenotype data.

Kristin worked at the Whitehead Institute/MIT Center for Genome Research from 1998 to 2000. She then took a leadership role at Genomics Collaborative Inc., working for six years on the company’s large-scale sample repository, including enrollment and collection of over 120,000 human tissue, DNA, and serum samples; QC, ethical, and regulatory issues; and scientific research and collaboration activities.
