David R. Liu
David R. Liu is a professor of chemistry and chemical biology at Harvard University, an investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and an associate member at the Broad Institute. His research spans and interconnects several disciplines including synthetic organic chemistry, directed evolution, protein biochemistry, chemical biology and cell biology. His group applies the principles underlying biological evolution to the study and discovery of synthetic small molecules, synthetic polymers, new chemical reactions, and biological macromolecules. His laboratory has developed a variety of new approaches to synthesize and evaluate biological and synthetic molecules and has used these approaches to study problems in both chemistry and biology.
