Charles Lee

Charles Lee is an associate professor of pathology at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital and an associate member at the Broad Institute. His research interests include the development and application of cytogenetic probes and platforms for the zebrafish and his laboratory currently serves as the cytogenetics reference laboratory for the zebrafish genome project. His group also uses cytogenetic technologies to identify new biomarkers in human cancers and to identify and characterize copy number variants (CNVs) in the human genome. Dr. Lee’s laboratory was among those to recently discover the widespread presence of CNVs in humans and is currently working to comprehensively catalogue and characterize these as well as other structural genomic variants.
